How to Achieve Anything You Want

What do you consider success? Is it running your own company and the accompanying big bank account? Could it be traveling to exotic places and meeting new, interesting people? How about a nice cozy home with a family that loves you?

Whatever success is for you, it is possible to attain it, as long as you have a plan and take the action needed to achieve it.

Today, let’s look at how you can achieve anything you want.

What do you need to become successful?

Everyone wants to be successful, but most people aren’t. In fact, a study by the University of Scranton found that the vast majority, 92 percent, of people who set New Year’s goals never actually achieve them.

That leaves only 8 percent in the goal-achiever category.

So how do these 8 percent get from point A to point B when most of us barely get out of the starting blocks?

What do they do differently?

Achieving success requires a combination of many factors. First and foremost, you’ve got to want it more than anything else.

In his book, Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill tells us, “Weak Desire brings weak results, just as a small fire brings a small amount of heat.”

You can’t just wish for what you want. You have to want it with all your heart and then work your butt off to get it.

As Napoleon Hill explained, when you desire it badly enough, you’ll put in the work and make the sacrifices needed to achieve it.

So how can you create this type of burning desire?

You can use the following 5 tips you to help you stick to your plan.

This is how you can achieve anything you want, even in the face of the biggest obstacles.

Try these techniques to achieve anything you want

1.    Write out in detail what you want to achieve.

Let’s take a moment to return to Napoleon Hill’s book, “Think and Grow Rich”. The first thing Napoleon tells us about goalsetting is to get clear on what it is that you want.

You do this by writing down your specific goals in detail. This will help you get a clear understanding of what you’re trying to achieve.

For example, if you’re working on healthy weight goals, write down a specific number of pounds that you want to weigh.

Don’t just write down, “I want to be “fit.”

Write clear, concise goals that provide a visual representation of your success.

For example, “I weigh a healthy, fit 165 pounds.”

Here’s the bottom line. If you don’t know exactly what you want, you won’t be able to achieve it.

2.    Develop a positive mindset.

When you have a positive mindset, you believe that things will generally turn out the best way possible. Having this mindset will give you the courage you need to pursue the things you want.

As you succeed in pursuing your goals, you’ll develop more courage. This will help you to persist, even in the face of obstacles.

For example, let’s say you want to make positive changes in your diet and lifestyle. As you pursue your goal, you begin to feel increased vibrancy, energy, and positivity.

This positive feedback gives you increased courage and persistence to explore setting goals in other areas of your life. As you continue making intelligent changes, your confidence and positivity increases.

Going back to pursuing healthy lifestyle goals. As you continue to feel better, the reinforcing feedback boosts your desire to continue a lifestyle that facilitates your positivity.

This causes this beneficial cycle to continue.

How to develop a positive mindset

What can you do to develop a positive mindset so you can achieve anything you want?

You can invest a little time every day to exercise both your brain and body. My recommendation is to combine practicing yoga or Tai Chi with mindfulness. Doing this will do wonders for your outlook on life. It will help you clear your mind while allowing you to concentrate on the positive things in your life.

You see, when you unleash the power of your mind, you make anything possible.

3.    Have fun along the way.

Your goals are about improving your life. This means they should be pulling you in a positive direction.

So many people fail in their quest to achieve the things they genuinely want because it becomes drudgery.

Develop ways to make your journey enjoyable. Have fun along the way.

For example, when you reach a milestone, celebrate it by treating yourself to a special outing, like a music concert or movie. You can even do this on your television at home.

When you’re having fun, things are more manageable, and your mind will relax. When your mind is relaxed, you’re better able to achieve what you want.

4.    Stay focused by removing distractions.

I don’t know about you, but I am constantly running into distractions. As I was drafting this article, I went to research a study and I accidentally selected a tab with the news. I rapidly started being pulled down that rabbit hole.

Fortunately, I was able to push myself away from all that negativity because I was locked-in on my goal of completing this article.

This is the same for all of us.

For you to achieve anything you want, it’s essential for you to stay focused on your goal.

If you allow yourself to get distracted, you will quickly lose sight of your destination. This is because, like those news articles, distractions seem very enjoyable, at least in the present.

To combat distractions, take some time to write down a list of things that could waste your time along your journey. Use that list to help you prepare to stay focused on pursuing your goals.

No matter how disciplined you think you are, something will eventually get in the way. You need to have a way to handle it.

5.    Copy from the best.

When you find something that is working for other people, adopt it, adjust it, and make it work for you. This way you won’t have to recreate the wheel.

Over the years I’ve hired many coaches and read thousands of books to help me with everything from learning martial arts to becoming a better public speaker.

Today, I still hire coaches and read as many books as possible as I begin learning something new.

There are people out there that are already doing what you’re trying to achieve. Many of these people have authored books about what you want to do. If you can’t hire them as a coach, study what they’ve written and learn from them.

Doing this one thing will save you a lot of time, money, and trouble as you go after what you want to achieve.

Put these techniques to work and watch your results soar!

If you want to achieve what you want, you’re going to have to set goals. It’s a lot easier to achieve your goals when you write them down, stay focused and positive, and have fun along the way.

Also remember it’s okay to ask for help from somebody who’s already been down the pathway you want to go.

If you work hard and use these tips to help you stay present and focused, you’ll soon find that you can achieve what you want, and a lot more.
